Poetic Prose
The universal language of poetry awakens us to the barriers we erect around our own thoughts and ideas. this freeing expression illuminates the home we have within. MY POEMS are an opportunity for us to learn more about ourselves through symbolism and the connections existing all around us.

Wisdom and lessons are constant, and they are everywhere. Often those things that are closest, those things that are in front of us, and those things that are a part of us, can be the most difficult for us to acknowledge.
These works are a mirror, and you alone decide what you see. I am hopeful they will reach something deep inside and spark new understanding, acceptance, or knowledge. I am optimistic that we can connect and learn from each other.

Questions are an important and inviting way to start any journey.
Questions worth considering after each read:
What can this teach me? Having this straightforward question at the forefront keeps learning a priority. When you learn about yourself, self-growth will follow.
What opportunities are exposed?
What personal obstacles come to light that acceptance will help me work to overcome?
What parts of me might need more nurturing? What no longer has a place or does not belong?
What problems exist between my reality and my perceptivity? What is the solution?
How can central themes and recurring concepts take on different meanings for me in different stories or contexts from one poetic work to another?
Is there a specific area in my body I feel something? The answer might help build a stronger intuitive nature.
Did something expressed make me uncomfortable? Consider this in a safe environment. Interesting things exist on the other side of uncomfortable.
Was there an emotion or emotions that crept in and perhaps overwhelmed? Explore this further.
The most important questions are YOUR questions. What questions came up for you?

Suggestions to help you get the most out of your experiences:
Whatever themes, perspectives, or realizations arise, sit quietly in the stillness afterwards or if it suits you, be active in repose through meditation. Consider what more you might need to discover about yourself.
Experiment by reading a poem keeping logic/thinking in the limelight. Then, read the poem again giving depth of feeling/listening the spotlight. The ease of this depends greatly upon your relationship with your intuitive self. Practice will build strength and voice.
Ignite a sense of curiosity within. Curiosity reaps understanding, tolerance, acceptance, and compassion. This is how we are best able to resonate with others.
I personally get the most out of poetry during the early morning hours when my intuition is most potent, and I am most intuitively connected. What time of day do you best feel that connection? I also resonate more deeply with poetic works when I reach an inner balance, after having dissipated any overwhelm. The more clarity you have, the more you can absorb into your being. I notice this more often after a nature meditation or a Qigong exercise involving the elements. What guides you towards a state of clarity and the release of overwhelm?
The Ticking of the Falling Clock
“As a cliff edge plummets to the sea, the fragile ego tumbles down.”
Unfolding Depths
“Between sleep and wake, a curtain of dreams our subconscious does make.”
